We are incredibly grateful for the many volunteers who dedicate their time, talents, and compassion to helping families with children receiving medical care. Your support truly makes a difference for the families we serve each day.

Current Volunteer Opportunities

PROGRAMS:

Ronald McDonald House

An adult must accompany House volunteers under the age of 16. Volunteers must commit to two four-hour shifts per month for four months. We are unable to accept court-mandated volunteers.

House volunteers help create a welcoming and comfortable environment for families staying at the House. Responsibilities may include greeting guests, answering telephones and doors, and assisting with the day-to-day operations of the House.

Available volunteer shifts:

• Monday – Sunday
  • 9 AM – 1 PM
  • 1 PM – 5 PM
  • 5 PM – 9 PM
• Most Needed Shifts:
  • Fridays, 9 AM – 1 PM

Ronald McDonald Family Room at Golisano Children’s Hospital

Orientation and training through RMHC SWFL and Lee Health are required. A Lee Heath Volunteer Application is required, as well as an RMHC SWFL application. Volunteers must be at least 18 years old.

Family Room volunteers provide comfort and support to families with children receiving medical care at Golisano Children’s Hospital. Responsibilities may include welcoming families, maintaining a calm, clean environment, stocking snacks and other supplies, and helping to ensure families have a comfortable place to rest and recharge during their hospital stay.

Available volunteer shifts:

• Monday – Friday
  • 8 AM – 12 PM
  • 12 PM – 4 PM
  • 4 PM – 8 PM
• Saturday – Sunday
  • 10 AM – 2 PM
  • 2 PM – 6 PM

Baking Buddies 

Baking Buddies volunteers help provide comfort to families staying at the House with homemade treats. Volunteers bring their own ingredients and bake in the Ronald McDonald House kitchen. This opportunity is perfect for individuals, families, or small groups looking for a hands-on way to brighten a family’s day.

Program Time:

• 10 AM – 12 PM

Family Meal Program 

Family Meal Program volunteers prepare and serve a meal for families staying at the House, helping provide comfort and a sense of normalcy during a difficult time. Volunteers bring their own ingredients and prepare a meal on-site in our fully equipped Ronald McDonald House kitchen.

• 3 PM – 5 PM
