Drive through at McDonald’s and help Ronald McDonald House

Families and children from RMHCNow through December 12, area McDonald’s restaurants are raising money through their drive-through to benefit the local Ronald McDonald House Charities and families in need. Those placing drive-through orders are encouraged to round-up their purchase to the nearest dollar or choose to give $1, $3 or $5 for RMHC. These donations provide vital resources and support to children and their families receiving care at nearby hospitals.

The restaurants are engaging in a friendly competition to see which can raise the most money for the cause. Last year, the first year of the challenge, thousands of McDonald’s restaurants across the southeast U.S. raised a total of $1.23 million to support their local RMHC houses. This year, McDonald’s restaurants want to double those funds.

“Our generous donors and partners, including McDonald’s owner/operators and customers, provide essential funding so that we can offer free-of-charge lodging, food, services and support to families with ill or injured children during a time of need,” Laura Ragain, executive director of RMHC of Southwest Florida, said. “Imagine being away from home and having a child in the hospital today.”

Craving McDonald’s and looking for ways to donate but don’t want to wait? There’s an app for that. Customers can also make an RMHC donation of $1, $3 or $5 by placing their order through the McDonald’s app.

We appreciate your support!
