Local Nonprofit Closing its Doors Donates Proceeds to Ronald McDonald House Charities® Southwest Florida

Taylor and Amy Hold Large Donation Check for $6,500Ronald McDonald House Charities® Southwest Florida (RMHC SWFL) received a $6,500 donation from Ducklings Travel, Inc., a nonprofit closing its doors. The mission of Ducklings Travel was to assist families with a child who had a debilitating yet non-life-threatening medical condition requiring distant, specialized medical treatment. Ducklings Travel would relieve families of expenses incurred while traveling, including airfare, hotels, and food. They were also advocates of RMHC SWFL programs and would let families know about their services when possible.

“After traveling to Denver, CO from our Southwest Florida home over a dozen times for my own medical treatment when I was ten years old, my family & I saw the need for an organization like Ducklings Travel to help other families going through the same thing. Our organization chose to support the Ronald McDonald House, knowing its valuable services provided to local families needing a helping hand.” Taylor Bouchard, Founder & Executive Director of Ducklings Travel, Inc.

Even though Taylor made the difficult decision to close her nonprofit, it was for a good reason. Taylor is moving to pursue her master’s degree in nonprofit management.

Taylor’s donation will directly benefit RMHC SWFL’s free-of-charge programs and services for children and families, such as the Ronald McDonald House®, Ronald McDonald Family Room®, at Golisano Children’s Hospital, and the Ronald McDonald Care Mobile® Program.
